Palestinian celebrations of Eid Al-Adha were marred by Israeli army incursions into several West Bank cities and in the Gaza Strip earlier this week. It was reported that in Nablus, an exchange of fire resulted in the injury of a young man. His wounds were reported as moderate. This followed a wave of Israeli arrests of allegedly wanted men in Nablus city and its camps.

Elsewhere in the West Bank, a family from the Jenin refugee camp was forced to wait for hours under extreme weather conditions, while the Israeli army ransacked their home. The army later arrested their son without any apparent reason.

Two young men from the village of Tubas, Jenin, were arrested at a mobile checkpoint. Their parents were beaten by Israeli soldiers when they protested their sons’ capture.

In the south of the West Bank, namely in the Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem, three youths, aged 16, were taken from their homes for questioning; their whereabouts are still unknown. The Israeli army claimed that they had a stash of Israeli and U.S. flags as well as Israeli army uniforms.

Two civilians were injured by Israeli army fire in Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip. It was reported that a group of people on their way to visit neighbors to offer holiday greetings came under Israeli fire and two brothers, Ahmed and Mohammed Saddah, aged 19 and 17 respectively, were mildly injured in the incident.

Three fishermen were also abducted by Israeli marines across the shores of Rafah as they were fishing. Their whereabouts are also unknown to date.
