Letter to the NYT: A Mideast Buffer
Re "Israeli Settlers' Zeal Forces Palestinians to Flee Their Town" (front page, Oct 21): As a Jew, a Zionist and a Holocaust survivor, I am horrified and ashamed of the cruelty perpetrated by fellow Jews of a settlement against their Palestinian neighbors Since both Israel and the Palestinians are not able to stop the cycle of violent vengeance, isn't it the moral duty of the only superpower to use its power constructively, by working toward the placement of an international military force in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and by forcing Israel and the Palestinians to accept this as a temporary means of stopping the mutual violence?
