Letter on PMWATCH

Dear Editor

I am appalled at the cover-up by most, but not all of the American media, of Israel's crimes against the Palestinian people. As a graduate student in Political Science and later as a refugee and human rights lawyer I have studied the Palestinian-Israeli conflict for the past 20 years. The ethnic cleansing, the targeting of Palestinian civilians, the blatant provocation's from the Israeli army and Jewish settlers, the illegal confiscation of land and illegal settlements, the demolishing of homes, the destruction of crops, and the institutionalized racism in Israel against non-Jews are reminiscent of crimes committed in the past against Jews, Armenians, Native Americans and other indigenous peoples. Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and even Israeli human rights organizations condemn the human rights abuses Israel is committing against the Palestinians. What Israel is doing today clearly constitutes crimes against humanity and other war crimes. We have not learned the lessons from the past about being silent while crimes against humanity are being committed. Yet America pays $5 billion dollars each year to Israel to facilitate this criminal activity. Americans had better pray that there there is no God because if he asks what did you do when the Palestinians were being persecuted they had better have a good answer or they will be in for a shock.
