While Israel’s settler colonial project affects all Palestinians alike, it affects Palestinian women in a gender-specific manner. At MIFTAH, our focus is to highlight the gender specific abuses faced by Palestinian women due to Israel’s violence and oppression. Our latest series, Women of Palestine, amplifies the voices of women all over historical Palestine.

Each month, MIFTAH will produce an episode highlighting stories of Palestinian women from all over Palestine. Each story will uncover a new topic pertaining to women, and share unique and untold stories coming from Palestine in an effort to provide Palestinian women more platforms.

For our pilot episode of MIFTAH’s new series, Women of Palestine, we documented the impact of the war on Gaza on our colleagues not only in Gaza, but here in Ramallah as well. Most of us are only viewing this genocide from our phones, but for the 2 million people trapped in Gaza, the experience is more than a video on a screen, it has been their real life for the past 136 days. For Palestinians from Gaza living outside of Gaza, watching the death and destruction of the place they call home has been emotionally devastating.
