Women protection from Gender-based Violence (GBV)
Women Protection from GBV is one of MIFTAHs strategic programs which aims to contribute in influencing the formulation of public polices and reforming national legislations to ensure the protection of womens rights and to reduce violence and its spread within the Palestinian society.

MIFTAH's pathway of Women Protection from GBV are:

  • Advocacy and media campaigning to influence the public opinion and duty bearers to adopt and ratify progressive laws such as the Family Protection Bill and the relevant policies and procedures including the reforming of the National Referral System.

  • Production of research, fact sheets, position papers, manuals and guidebooks, focusing on laws, bylaws, policies, internal procedures and mechanisms in place for women and girls, to insure a higher level of protection and inclusion.

  • Fostering policy dialogue to share reform recommendations and policy proposals to promote gender equality and protection of womens rights in the formation of an enabling inclusive legal framework based on human rights conventions and treaties.

  • Mobilize community awareness towards women rights in relation to human rights conventions including CEDAW.

  • Capacity building program to promote youth, men and CBOs engagement in leading advocacy and community outreach to combat GBV and support the protection of womens rights in Palestine.
