There are currently over 9,000 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. Over 3500 of these prisoners are in administrative detention, meaning they are being held without charge or trial. Israel's imprisonment of Palestinian men breaks up families and leaves wives and mothers on their own. Palestinian women find themselves having to juggle around several responsibilities at once and be in charge of everything, trying to provide for their families while taking care of daily household needs. In this episode of Our Women, we interview Sumood, whose husband was freed from Israeli prison in 2019 after a 14-year sentence. After the start of the Israeli genocide in Gaza, he was arbitrarily detained and is again in Israeli prison. Sumood and her husband have two young boys and have built a life together that has been torn apart by Israel.
