Thousands of Palestinians filled the streets of the West Bank city of Nablus as they grieved and paid their last respects to six Palestinians, including an 11-year-old girl, killed by an Israeli raid on Wednesday, 15 September. The crowds marched from Rafidya’s hospital to the central martyrs square where prayers were held. The victims, five of which were members of Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ brigades, were killed as Israeli forces, surrounded a home in the Old City. Their bodies were later recovered beneath the rubble of that same building. Moreover, a young schoolgirl Maram Al-Nahleh, was shot at the door step of her home while attempting to take a closer look at the ambulances passing by flashing their red lights and sirens, according to medics and relatives. Altogether 20 Israeli army jeeps and tanks took part in the operation, with an aerial cover by an apache helicopter. Troops raided the city in the early morning hours and pulled out in the late morning. After the news of the killings spread out in the city, clashes erupted between Israeli troops and stone throwing youngsters, these clashes resulted in the wounding dozens of Palestinians including a 14-year-old boy who remains in serious condition at a Nablus hospital, medics confirmed. Four other members of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade were extra judicially killed by an Israeli Special Forces unit, ‘death squad’, in the nearby city of Jenin. Their bodies were buried late Wednesday.
